A week into the trial of three former Dewey & LeBoeuf executives, a lawyer for the firm’s ex-chairman Steven Davis got aggressive when questioning former partner and executive committee member John Salmon about what he knew about the now-defunct firm’s financial situation.
Under questioning Tuesday by Christopher Conroy, an assistant district attorney with the New York County District Attorney’s Office, Salmon testified that he felt more financial information should have been shared with Dewey & LeBoeuf partners. The firm filed for bankruptcy in May 2012, and its three leaders, including Davis, former executive director Stephen DiCarmine and ex-CFO Joel Sanders, have been charged with fraud, conspiracy and falsifying business records.
