Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. will be split into two new firms as the result of an irreconcilable dispute between the two brothers managing what is India’s largest and most prominent law firm, according to reports in the national media.

India’s Economic Times and online trade publication Legally India have cited numerous independent sources who say that mediation between Delhi managing partner Shardul Shroff and Mumbai managing partner Cyril Shroff has broken down and the brothers are going their separate ways. The split will take effect on April 1, the beginning of the new fiscal year.
