The Joint Commission on Public Ethics imposed a $3,500 fine on Peter Kiernan for his activities on behalf of his law firm, Schiff Hardin. The Commission said that Kiernan violated the section of the Public Officers Law that bars former employees in policy-making jobs from appearing before state agencies for two years.
