Jeffrey Koewler, a corporate partner at the largest firm in California's capital city, is seeking to find a new buyer for the NBA's Sacramento Kings in order to prevent the franchise from leaving town for Seattle. Covington & Burling—which this week represented Time Warner Cable on a television broadcast rights deal for MLB's Los Angeles Dodgers—is advising investors intent on buying the Kings and moving them to the Puget Sound region. An ownership group composed of partners at Perkins Coie and K&L Gates sold the Sonics in 2008.
