K&L Gates, which saw a spate of lateral departures in 2015 before embarking on a hiring spree to start this year, is doubling down on its presence Down Under after recently closing a Moscow office it opened back in 2010.
The closure of K&L Gates’ presence in Moscow, noted last month by CEE Legal Matters following the relocation of a partner to Dubai and the hire of another partner by Squire Patton Boggs, comes as large firms with offices in Russia cope with a local economy struggling amid Western sanctions and falling oil prices.
