With the rapid growth of a number of Canadian startups, most major corporate law firms in that country are now ramping up specialized advisory groups. Canadian firms “are trying to find ways to help these new tech companies grow into global companies,” says Brock Gibson, chair of Blake, Cassels & Graydon. “It’s good for Canada and good for our business.”

Each firm is following a distinct path to attract startup clients, while trying to reduce risks.
