Scott O’Malia, the longest-serving member of the current five-member Commodity Futures Trading Commission panel, will step down from his position on Aug. 8 after more than four years at the agency, and take up the post of chief executive at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, The Wall Street Journal reports.

O’Malia, a Republican, is leaving the commission as it transitions to a new team of commissioners and progresses from writing to enforcing the rules put into place under the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Bloomberg reports.
