The Securities and Exchange Commission is due to begin reviewing the accredited investor standard that governs which kind of investor is permitted to put money into private securities offerings, Investment News reports.

Under the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act the SEC is required to reconsider the accredited investor standard every four years, meaning it’s up for review this month. The issue came up for debate at a meeting last week of the SEC Investor Advisory Committee (IAC).
