McKool Preserves $368 Million Patent Win Against Apple

Last November, when McKool Smith's Douglas Cawley scored a $368 million East Texas jury verdict against Apple, we noted that McKool's contingency agreement with plaintiff VirnetX gave the firm an extra big stake in preserving the victory. Thanks to Cawley and his team, VirnetX has managed to fend off the first round of post-verdict attacks by Apple's lawyers, and the award remains safe for now.
