Former K&E partner John Desmarais says that he's no longer the head of Round Rock Research—the patent licensing company he founded three years ago—because he wanted to devote his full time to his law firm. Desmarais's roles at his two businesses came under attack last year in an infringement case that Round Round brought against Dell.
