The inaugural American Lawyer Global Legal Awards honor the deals or disputes of 2012 that best exemplify the challenges of transnational legal practice. They aim to capture the full gamut of global legal work, regardless of the forum or mode of lawyering, from cross-border M&A to dual equity listings, and from regulatory agencies to the World Trade Organization. They reflect the work of the entire legal team, including in-house counsel and the most significant local and specialty counsel for all parties in noncontentious matters. Finally, they honor global citizenship in all its forms, looking beyond just pro bono cases.

The grand prize winners in each of the four Global Legal Awards categories were announced on September 23 in New York.
