Three former judges have joined Korean law firm Bae, Kim & Lee as partners.

Taeck Soo Kwon, most recently an appellate judge with the Seoul High Court, is joining the firm’s intellectual property practice. He specializes in patent infringement cases and was a founding member of the Patent Court of Korea. Previously, Taeck held the position of research judge with the Supreme Court of Korea; such judges assist the Supreme Court justices in researching their decisions.

Joo Hyae Jun will join Bae, Kim & Lee’s litigation department. She was formerly a judge in the criminal division of Seoul Central District Court.

Il Yeon Kim, who is also joining the firm as a litigation partner, was most recently a Supreme Court research judge.

Bae, Kim & Lee has over 450 lawyers in offices in Seoul, Beijing and Shanghai.
