Berwin Leighton Paisner has announced that a new partner is joining its Hong Kong office.

Nigel Ward was previously a Beijing partner with Norton Rose Fulbright. He advises on project and trade finance, especially in the shipping and aviation sectors. In addition to China, Ward also handles work in emerging markets such as Myanmar and Indonesia. His clients have included ICBC Financial Leasing, Deutsche Bank, Avolon Aerospace Leasing, China Development Bank and Spring Airlines.

Ward relocated to Beijing in 2009 from Norton Rose’s Paris office, where he was head of the finance practice. He also previously worked in the firm’s London and Bahrain offices.

According to its website, Berwin Leighton Paisner Hong Kong office has 12 lawyers. Globally, the firm has around 800 lawyers in nine offices.
