Korean firm Yoon & Yang has hired a new white-collar criminal defense partner for its Seoul office.

Young Kon Cho is joining the firm from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, where he was chief prosecutor. In that role, Cho supervised criminal investigations and prosecutions for antitrust violations, tax and securities fraud and corruption.

In his 23-year career as a prosecutor, Cho worked in a number of jurisdictions in South Korea. Before moving to Seoul last year, he was chief prosecutor for the Ulsan District, near Busan. He was also previously chief prosecutor in the Daegu District, also in southern Korea.

Yoon & Yang has 290 lawyers, including 110 partners, in offices in Seoul, Tokyo and Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
