China’s Jun He Law Offices has added a Hong Kong partner.

Esther Leung was most recently a Hong Kong partner at DLA Piper.

Leung advises on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and capital markets deals. Last month, she advised Chinese state-owned company Nam Kwong (Group) Co. Ltd. on a $612 million acquisition of a 38 percent stake in Macau’s power supplier Companhia de Electricidade de Macau-CEM S.A.

Leung joined DLA Piper in 2006 from the former Mallesons Stephen Jaques, where she was a Hong Kong-based partner. She joined Mallesons in 2004 when the firm merged with Kwok & Yih, where she had been a partner since 1999. Earlier in her career, she worked at the former Richards Butler and King & Company in Hong Kong.

Jun He has 20 lawyers, including nine partners in Hong Kong. Globally, the Beijing-based firm has about 480 lawyers in nine offices.
