Berwin Leighton Paisner has entered into a nonexclusive alliance with Myanmar law firm Legal Network Consultants.

In a statement, Berwin Leighton Paisner said it saw opportunities in Myanmar’s power, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and real estate sectors. The 800-lawyer U.K. firm handles most Southeast Asian work out of its Singapore office.

Yangon-based Legal Network Consultants is led by managing partner Khin Mar Aye. The firm also has an affiliation with another local firm in Myanmar, The Law Chambers.

A number of foreign firms have recently moved into Myanmar, whether through partnerships or by opening offices of their own. Last month, Baker & McKenzie and Allen & Gledhill opened Yangon offices, while Singapore firm Colin Ng & Partners formed an alliance with Fame Myanmar Co. Ltd. in January. Japanese law firm Mori Hamada & Matsumoto also opened a Yangon office in January.
