DLA Piper Adds Two Australia Partners
DLA Piper has added two corporate partners in Sydney.
Pointon specializes in private equity and will head up the firm's corporate practice in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Gilbert + Tobin in 2007, he was a partner for ten years at the former Mallesons Stephen Jaques. He had first joined the firm in 1993 from Latham & Watkins, with whom he'd worked for two years in New York. He is also qualified to practice in the United States.
Ryan was on Ashurst's Australia team acting for bookmaker William Hill on its $776.2 million bid to takeover gaming company Sportingbet last year. He was a senior associate at Blake Dawson for nine years and became a partner in 2009. Blake Dawson and Ashurst's Asian business merged in 2012.
