Dallas-based Haynes and Boone has announced plans to open its first Asia office, to be located in Shanghai. The firm last fall recruited former O'Melveny & Myers Hong Kong counsel Yan Zhang as a China-focused partner, who will divide his time between Shanghai and San Jose and co-head the new office with a locally recruited partner.

Dallas-based Haynes and Boone has announced plans to open an office in Shanghai, the firm’s first in Asia.
The firm said it had received approval from China’s Ministry of Justice, and that recruitment was under way to staff the office. No date has yet been set for an official launch.
