Following its massive combination with Chinese legal giant Dacheng, Dentons will close its six-lawyer outpost in Singapore, where Dacheng has a presence in the city-state through a joint venture with a local firm called the Wong Alliance.

Dentons’ Singapore office, which focuses on banking and trade finance, is composed of partners Markus Blenntoft and Matthew Cox, one counsel, one legal officer and two associates, according to the firm. The Global Trade Review first reported the news of Dentons’ decision to dismantle its operations in Singapore. At the time of this story, the timeframe for the shutdown and future of its team in Singapore remained unclear, but Dentons did confirm the closure in a statement to The Am Law Daily.
