Dewey Departure Tracker

On May 28, 2012, Dewey & LeBoeuf—the twenty-eighth highest-grossing law firm on this year’s Am Law 100 survey—ended weeks of speculation about how its demise would officially play out by filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The filing brought a measure of closure to what had been several months of chaos at Dewey, marked most notably by the endless stream of defections that decimated a partnership that numbered roughly 300 when the year began. Throughout Dewey’s collapse, The Am Law Daily carefully tracked where each of those partners landed, and as of July 4, 2012, nearly all of them were accounted for.
