In an objection filed Wednesday in New York federal bankruptcy court, a group of 28 law firms asked the judge overseeing Dewey & LeBoeuf's Chapter 11 proceedings to squash the now-defunct firm's planned investigation into so-called unfinished business claims it hopes to recover. Meanwhile, in a San Francisco courtroom on the same day, six firms sought to prevent a Howrey trustee from collecting money on such claims.
