Linklaters has recruited a mergers and acquisitions partner for its Singapore office.

William Kirschner is moving over from White & Case, which he joined as a partner in 2008.

He started in White & Case’s Washington, D.C., office but relocated to Singapore a year later. In addition to his M&A work, he also was a part of the firm’s India practice group.

Kirschner specializes in cross-border M&A and private equity deals, with a significant focus on India and Indonesia. In 2010, he advised Indonesian conglomerate Rajawali Group on its $1.1 billion sale of a 24 percent stake in PT Semen Gresik, the country’s biggest cement maker, through a block trade over the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Prior to joining White & Case, Kirschner was a partner at the Washington, D.C., office of Boston-based Goodwin Procter. He was head of the firm’s India practice as well.

Linklaters’ Singapore office now houses 47 lawyers including Kirschner, eight of them partners. The firm employs 2,600 lawyers worldwide.
