K&L Gates has added a partner to its Sydney office.
Andrea Beatty is joining the U.S. firm from HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, where she was also a partner. She is the first partner to join K&L Gates in Australia since its merger at the beginning of the year with Sydney-based Middletons.
Beatty focuses on financial services regulatory matters, including those pertaining to credit, privacy, and anti-money laundering laws.
She joined HWL Ebsworth as partner in 2009. She was previously a partner at the firm now known as King & Wood Mallesons, where she became a partner in 1998.
According to K&L Gates’ website, Beatty’s joining will take the firm’s Sydney headcount to 99 lawyers, including 26 partners. Pittburgh-based K&L Gates has almost 1,800 lawyers worldwide.
