Weil Boosts Beijing with Cleary Hire

Weil, Gotshal & Manges has added a partner to its Beijing office.

Li Li was previously Beijing office director of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. She specializes in securities offerings and also acts on mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment transactions.
 
Qualified in the U.S., Li moved to Cleary’s Beijing office in 2011 from the Shanghai office of Debevoise & Plimpton, where she was a partner. She joined Debevoise in 2002 as an international counsel and was promoted to partner in 2005. Before joining Debevoise, she was a New York partner with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.
 
New York-based Weil Gotshal opened its seven-lawyer Beijing office in 2008 and also has Asia offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The firm has over 1,100 lawyers worldwide.
