Jones Day has recruited another partner for its Singapore office, bringing the total to five so far this year.
Michelle Chen joins Jones Days banking and finance practice from Herbert Smith, which she left in June. The British firm merged with Australias Freehills that same month.
Chen specializes in project finance in the energy sector, but also advises on credit insurance and other structured finance transactions. She began her career in London with Allen & Overy, and worked in the Magic Circle firms Hong Kong and Singapore offices before joining Herbert Smith in 2001.
Jones Day this year has hired four other partners in Singapore: Michael Pollen and Kevin Murphy from K&L Gates in June, and Matthew Skinner and Darren Murphy from Allens in November. The office now has 27 lawyers, 13 of whom are partners, according to Jones Days website.
