Hong Kong firm Howse Williams Bowers is adding a partner to its corporate practice.

Brian Ho is joining the firm from Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Ltd., where he was an in-house lawyer advising the bank’s underwriting division on initial public offerings and other capital markets transactions. Last year, these deals included the $1.37 billion IPO of HK Trust, PCCW’s fixed line, mobile and broadband telecom business, on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Ho was an associate with Baker & McKenzie in Hong Kong before joining Standard Chartered in 2007. Prior to that, he also worked in Hong Kong for Stephenson Harwood and Woo, Kwan, Lee & Lo.

Howse Williams was launched at the beginning of the year by former partners at Reed Smith Richards Butler. The firm now counts 49 lawyers, nine of whom are partners.
