King & Wood Mallesons has hired a new partner for its Melbourne office.
Mark Beaufoy is joining the firm from DLA Piper, where he was head of the Australian environmental practice.
He specializes in advising clients on legal risks related to site contamination and brownfield matters, as well as on environmental assessments and approvals for major infrastructure projects. Beaufoy also advises on pollution control and waste strategies.
Beaufoy joined the former Phillips Fox as an associate in 2004. He was made partner at DLA Phillips Fox in 2008. Beaufoy was previously an associate at Clayton Utz in both the firms Mebourne and Sydney offices.
