Squire Sanders is opening a Sydney office with a partner recruited from Allens.
Campbell Davidson is a corporate lawyer who focuses on acquisitions, disposals and joint venture deals. He had been with Allens for more than 20 years, including a four-year stint in the Australian firm's Shanghai office, where he led the China corporate practice until last year. Prior to joining Allens as associate in 1992, Davidson worked in the London and Singapore offices of Linklaters.
The firm has also recruited to join its Sydney office intellectual property counsel Richard Pascoe from Truman Hoyle Lawyers and tax counsel Louise Boyce from DLA Piper.
The Sydney office, which will open November 1, will be the second in Australia for the Cleveland-based firm. Last year it launched in Perth by recruiting most of the lawyers from the local office of Australian firm Minter Ellison.
Squire Sanders also launched offices in Seoul and Singapore this year. The firm also has offices in China and Japan.
